Scout Outpost was built for the people who take the outdoors seriously. We're a sporting goods store, yes — but more than that, we're a community hub for the hunters, shooters, and adventurers who call the Pacific Northwest home.

Transfers & Fees
Firearm & NFA Transfer Process
Scout Outpost processes both standard firearm transfers and NFA transfers in full compliance with Oregon and federal law. We will contact you when your item has been received and is ready for pickup. All shipments must be sent to our physical location at 1500 SE E Devils Lake Road, Suite 117, Lincoln City, OR 97367.
Non-NFA Transfers
- $10 per firearm beyond the first three
- $12 FICS background check fee included
- Private-party transfers require both buyer and seller present with valid ID
- Items not picked up within 30 days may incur a $30/month storage fee
- Property not picked up after 365 days shall be considered abandoned
NFA Transfers
- Form 4 transfers at no charge when purchased through our store or Silencer Shop and shipped to us
- Document assistance and fingerprinting included
- Customers must complete required Silencer Shop / ATF eForms steps and certify before the approval wait begins

In Oregon, all firearm transfers between private parties — including online purchases — must go through a licensed FFL dealer. The process is straightforward: have the seller ship the firearm directly to Scout Outpost at 1500 SE E Devils Lake Road, Suite 117, Lincoln City, OR 97367. Once we receive it, we'll contact you to come in, complete the required Oregon background check (FICS), and take possession. Non-NFA transfers start at $60 for up to three firearms, plus a $12 FICS fee.
Scout Outpost is your local source for suppressors on the Oregon Coast. We carry suppressor brands including Dead Air, SilencerCo, and Rugged, and we're an authorized Silencer Shop dealer. We handle the entire NFA Form 4 transfer process in-house — including fingerprinting and document assistance. Suppressors purchased through our store or via Silencer Shop and shipped to us are processed at no transfer fee.
An FFL (Federal Firearms License) transfer is the legal process of receiving a firearm purchased online or from a private seller through a licensed dealer. At Scout Outpost, the process typically takes less than an hour once your firearm arrives. We'll notify you when it's ready, you'll complete a background check, and walk out with your purchase the same day — assuming approval.
Yes. Scout Outpost is an authorized ODFW (Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife) license agent. We issue hunting and fishing licenses in-store, so you can pick up your license, tags, and gear all in one stop.
We do. Scout Outpost buys, sells, and trades used firearms. We also accept firearms on consignment. Bring your piece in and our staff will evaluate it and make you a fair offer. All transactions comply with Oregon and federal law, including background checks on all transfers.
Yes — and for many sellers, consignment is the smartest route. When you consign with Scout Outpost, we handle everything: pricing, display, listing on third-party platforms, payment processing, background checks, shipping, and all the paperwork. You hand it over and we take it from there. Our consignment fee is 25% of the net sale price. We ask for a minimum 30-day window to find the right buyer — no window shoppers, no private-party headaches, and the record transfers out of your name the moment it sells. Once your firearm sells, you'll receive in-store credit automatically; our team will then work with you to issue a check or apply it toward your next purchase. If you need to retrieve your firearm before the 30-day period ends, just give us 24 hours' notice — a service fee may apply. Stop in or give us a call to get started.
